There are many ways to keep up with your pup’s adventures so you can rest assured that they are having as much fun as possible!
Firstly, check out our Instagram and Facebook. This is where we post our favourite photos and videos each week. If you see a photo that you like, let us know and we will send it to you so you can show your friends and family how much fun your pup has!
We also offer real-time updates. Our pack leaders are more than happy to send you updates after the walk with photos and videos so that you know what your pup is up to while you are stuck at work writing up that brief! Instagram also has a feature called “Stories” where we post real-time video snaps of us at the park for your viewing pleasure!
If you need to cancel a dog walk, you must notify your walker by 6pm the day before the service was scheduled. If you cancel later than this you will incur a fee equaling 25% of the service amount.
The reason we require this notice is because we organise our walks the day before so that each pup can get exactly what he/she needs. We have time requirements, a maximum amount of dogs per walk, as well as wanting to put your pup in a group that best suits its personality and energy levels.
If we are unable to gain access to your dog or if the dog is not at home at the time of service you will be charged for the full walk.
Unlike other companies, we do not charge a cancellation fee for house sitting. This is because we understand that such a circumstance is usually out of the owner’s control. However, repeated cancellations may make it less likely that you receive priority for future bookings.
If you're on a subscription package for dog walking, you're required to authorise direct debit recurring payments. You will only ever be charged for the amount subscribed & all banking details are handled through Ezidebit:(https://www.ezidebit.com/en-au); meaning world class security built in Australia.
If we've completed any additional services for you outside of your subscription, we will add the extra service(s) to your invoice and charge you 7 days after your invoice has been emailed to you. This process also applies to Occasional Dog Walks, House Sitting and any of our Pet Care services.
Absolutely! We are an Australian registered company and we take every precaution to make sure our fur family is always safe. We are insured under QBE Public Liability Insurance, Work Cover and Comprehensive Motor Vehicle Insurance.
Please click below to read over our Terms and Conditions Policy - the policy must be agreed upon by the owner before any services are used.
The amount of exercise your dog needs depends on a multitude of factors such as health, age, breed and, of course, personality!
Despite the wide variation between each dog, one thing is for sure - every dog needs to be walked! Even elderly or unwell dogs benefit from a short easy stroll because it’s not necessarily about the physical exercise but about giving your dog the mental stimulation it needs to be healthy and happy.
The average healthy dog requires a good 1 hour walk per day whether that be at the park socialising, playing and chasing or just having a trot around sniffing gross stuff! The physical and mental exercise that walking provides is essential in preventing behavioural problems.
Common behavioural issues like constant barking, destructive chewing, digging holes and other mischievous acts are often a result of boredom and are unlikely to occur if you have a tired, well-exercised doggo. A lack of activity, stimulation and socialisation can also lead to more serious problems like anxiety and aggression.
In saying this, we understand that it isn’t always easy to get your dog out and about when you have a busy schedule! This is where we come in! Knowing that your fur baby is getting the exercise it needs and deserves will allow you to continue your daily routines with peace of mind.
If you have any questions about your dog's specific exercise needs or behavioural advice, please feel free to give us a call!
Socialisation - dogs are social animals and need to be with other dogs regularly to strengthen their social skills. Hanging with the other pups in the group walks is great mental stimulation and also allows them to get some well deserved playtime!
Adventure - our group walks are run in local dog parks however we try our best to go to different parks and beaches as much as possible so the walks are always exciting and interesting.
Exercise - the best exercise a dog can get is off-leash running around with their buddies! Unlike our on-leash walks, our group walks allow your pup to play and chase to their heart's desire. We especially recommend group walks for high energy dogs as they have the freedom to run and swim out all that energy!!
Not at all! From Miniature Poodles to Great Danes, we have it covered!
We often take our bigger boned friends to larger parks so they have the space to run and play. We also tend to take them in small numbered groups to ensure there is lots of space in the van so that your pup is as comfortable as can be!
Our walkers are very experienced and will have full control over your dog no matter the size! We have walks specifically catered to high energy so the big doggies get a good run and are returned to you exhausted.
For our littler pups we can place them in walks with others small dogs if that's what your doggo prefers. Having said that, we certainly have some little ones who love playing with the big pups and can keep up with their energy levels. It is also great to have some variety in the group so your dog can be well socialised with pups big and small!
All in all, our walking groups vary depending on our pups' personalities!
The number of dogs we take on each walk may vary and depends on your dog’s social ability however, we never take more than 4 dogs per walker.
This is a legal requirement under the Companion Animals Act and ensures that each dog under our care is being properly supervised. If there are two walkers we may take 8 dogs (4 to each walker) - this may sound like a lot but as experienced dog walkers we are able to control and supervise all our pups while still having a fun and exciting adventure!
In short, we have fun!! We throw balls, play with toys, run, jump, swim, roll around on the grass, have tug-o-war battles and the list goes on - no lazy dog walkers at Canine and Co.! We encourage all our pups to play, run and socialise so they can use up all their energy - this way you come home to a calm, happy and very relaxed pup!
We organise our groups to best suit your fur baby so they are with other dogs of the same energy level. Just like us they make friends and always have a favourite play buddy! We often visit beaches for those who like to swim and occasionally go on bush walks so they can smell new interesting things.
For our senior citizens or our doggies with health problems we take it at a slower pace - this includes LOTS of cuddles and attention and a nice and easy stroll around the park so that your little one can sniff to their hearts desire!
Our #1 priority is your pups safety! Although accidents do happen at the park just as it would when you are with them, we take all precautions to make sure your fur baby comes home happy and healthy! We have experienced walkers who are trained to make the walks a fun and safe environment. The most important way we can ensure your pups safety and health is our strict vaccination policy which requires your pup, as with all the pups we care for, to be completely up-to-date with their shots!
Secondly, your pup needs to have a properly fastened collar so that it cannot slip off. When transporting your dog between the van and your home we want to make sure there is no possible way your dog is near the road or other hazards. It also enables us to securely handle your dog if an unsafe situation arises.
Lastly, we ask all our clients to be upfront and honest about their dog's behaviour and social ability to prevent unsafe situations to occur. If your pup has poor recall or doesn’t get along with others we need to know so that we can make sure they are getting special attention and training.
Going to the beach is one of our favourite activities!! Most of the pups love splashing about in the water, especially in summer! We try and go to the beach each week and will always towel dry your pooch before dropping them home. However, if you or your pup doesn't like the water, you can let us know in the dog walking registration form and we will do our best to work our walks around this.
On weekdays we walk between 8am - 4pm.
We also offer a “late walk” (between 4:00pm - 6:00pm), however these walks are subject to availability and incur a $20/dog surcharge.
We walk on weekends if we get enough bookings to fill one walk however this is not always guaranteed. There is a $20/dog surcharge on weekends.
We sure do! Rain, hail or shine! If your best friend doesn’t like the rain please let us know and we can reschedule their walk.
Our discount system is in place to ensure we have a consistent cash flow. This allows us to provide full-time, dedicated team members and to maintain our high quality service. By using our automatic billing method we can avoid the awkward ‘late payment chats’ and focus on providing a consistently professional and personal service to our pets and clients.
Of course! These times can often be the busiest for families and we want to help out as much as we can. For school holidays it's just business as usual - we continue with all our regular walks like any other day.
On public holidays, however, it is a little different. We often don't do walks unless specifically asked. Public Holiday walks incur a $20/dog surcharge so we can pay our walkers properly.
We try our best to cater for all dogs and have special on-leash walks for dogs who have behavioural problems or are not well socialised that make them unsuitable for group walks.
One of our pack leaders, Freya, is a qualified vet nurse and advise you how we can best help you pet if it has any health issues. This goes for both dogs and cats! Please don’t be discouraged if your pet has special needs - call us anytime and we can discuss how to keep your fur baby happy and cared for!
We get this question all the time and love walking through our first time house sitting clients - once you see how happy your pets are after your holiday you will never want anyone else looking after your fur babies!

Please CLICK HERE to go to see house sitting calculator and to read about our amazing house sitters!
*Please note that there is a $20/day surcharge on public holidays.
We see very high demand for pet sitting over school and public holidays, and as a result we book up very quickly. Please keep this in mind when planning a holiday and ask us as early as possible. Unfortunately, due to the high demand and to keep things fair, we are unable to hold onto your booking until you have confirmed your dates with us.
For house sitting on public holidays we have a $20 surcharge for that day. For Christmas and Easter this means that there will be a surcharge for each day that is deemed a public holiday (e.g. Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day is a $60 total surcharge).
Our pet visits are designed for a whole range of situations whether you are away or just having a late night at work. We can come and feed your pet so you can relax knowing they are being well cared for.
If you are going away on holiday we are happy to come and feed your kitty daily! Cats are very territorial by nature and can become very stressed if put into boarding especially during transportation. Having regular visits each day is a great way for your cat to stay happy and relaxed in their own home while still getting the attention they need.
We generally don’t recommend pet visits for dogs if you are going away for more than a couple of days as dogs often require more human interaction and companionship that pet sitting can provide.

- Daily litter cleaning or garden pooper scooping

We charge per visit and can visit your pet as many times each day as you want!
